Romiley Photoshow Slide Knockout Competition 2006 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

We again entered the Romiley Photo and Digital Imaging Club Photoshow Slide Knockout Competition this year. Our entry of six slides (not more than two from any one author) was chosen from the highly rated images in our 4th Quarterly Competition. On the night, we were represented by Tony Redford, Phil Riley and your Competition Secretary. We brought the total attendance including the organisers, judge and wife, to 20. Slides were projected in the usual random order and judged by Roy Brightman FRPS from Sheffield PS. About eight clubs had entered (we did not count the slides and the organisers made no announcement). The knockout, punctuated by a refreshment break, went to six rounds. Our results are shown in the table (and compared with the scores in our Quarterly). We were unplaced in the competition with our total of 19 points. The winners were Chapel CC with 31 points followed by 85 Group with 26 and Stockport PS with 23. These results were calculated manually and the remaining scores not announced. The winning individual image was from Stockport PS. It should be reported however that NCPS were very successful in one aspect of the competition --both Tony and Phil drew winning tickets in the raffle! |
