Opening of the Southport PS Annual Open Exhibition

NCPS was represented at the "Opening of the Southport PS Annual Open Exhibition" on Saturday 18th March 2006 by Tony and Dorothy Redford, Gordon and Joyce Robson and Jon Allanson.

The main focus for NCPS were "Open Colour Print" acceptances from ...

  • Dorothy Redford, CPAGB - "Framed" which was awarded a CERTIFICATE and "Different Approach"
  • Tony Redford -"Tree Tentacles" and "Stripes"
  • Gordon Robson - "Boulanger - Patissier"
  • Geoff Robinson, ARPS, DPAGB, BPE2*, "The Guardian" and "A Man and His Buick"

and "Open Monochrome Print" acceptance for .....

  • Tony Redford - "Moons"

All the above accepted entries from NCPS members are shown below (Dorothy`s outlined in red, Tony`s in white, Geoff`s in green, Gordon`s in blue).

The quality of the exhibits at Southport was of an exceptionally high standard and we thoroughly enjoyed looking, particularly at the Monochrome and Open Colour / Nature prints, so perhaps we will be inspired to try even harder to improve our photography.

Dorothy got a well deserved round of applause when she received her award CERTIFICATE for her photograph entitled "Framed" which has also received wide aclaim elsewhere - "Congratulations Dorothy".

We look forward to viewing the colour slides at Wilmslow Guild on 22nd March as we were short of time on the Saturday afternoon.

We would like record our thanks and appreciation to Southport PS for so successfully running this prestigious National Exhibition. The opening was attended from far afield including a daytrip from Guernsey. Also best wishes to Keith Suddaby during his retirement and his move to Morpeth. He will be sorely missed at Southport and in the L&CPU, but is sure of a great welcome at Morpeth PS (their gain is our loss!)

We can thoroughly recommend a visit to the nearby Italian Restaurant which is a favourite haunt of Dorothy and Tony`s. Particularly Gordon who was sufficiently relaxed after a glass or so of wine that he succumbed to the charms ot Christine Widdall and promised to provide an evening on the Oldham PS syllabus ! How could he refuse!

Gordon (or should he remain anonymous)?
