On Tuesday 8th November Colin Pickles reminded us of our previous four overseas trips (plus a taster for the Rome trip next year) with a slide show of his personal record of these events. We began with the Eiffel tower and our Paris trip, visited Brugge, Barcelona and finally Valencia. For his earlier trips Colin took his tame stooge with him and persuaded him to look silly and act even sillier. No stooge was available for the latter tours and so Colin added interest by showing a platoon of flatheads apparently walking upside down on clouds. This encouraged audience participation. Showing the slides back to front was less effective. Colin’s presentation took the full two hours and Roy Cheetham had no time to show the two DVD presentations he had lovingly assembled.
