Gordon Robson told us that he had heard of an alternative supplier of Mount Board. Several members had apparently been dispatched to find this supplier, but apparently most got lost on the way. Gordon therefore challenged Bill to track down this elusive source. Travelling in a NNW direction from Marple Bill arrived in Levenshulme, on the A6, opposite the Albert road turn. He was in the general vicinity. Parking his car in Chapel Street he began walking in ever-decreasing circles until he stumbled on the said supplier, well hidden in a narrow back street. Whipping out his trusty ETREX GPS system Bill observed that the location was at SJ 874 941. The supplier was CV Thornley & Co, Wholesale Framing Supplies, and the address was Bankley House, Bankley Street, Levenshulme, M19 3PP telephone no. 0161 225 1259.

I explained that I represented NCPS, great users of Mount board. They agreed that we could be supplied in bulk at trade prices. 4 lots of 20x16 inch mounts can be cut from each board. A pack of 10 boards would equate to a cost of £2.30+ VAT each, whereas single boards cost £2.55 each plus VAT. A pack of 10 chipboard backs for the mounting board would cost £12 plus VAT.

I feel sure Gordon will be happy to organise bulk supplies for the club on an intermittent basis!!!
