At the last AGM, Jill was kind enough to remind us that our recent new members would probably not be aware that the club owned some items of equipment that were bought for the use of the members themselves. The basis was that any member using any item would give a donation (in cash, of their own choosing) in respect of the loan. The most ‘professional’ item is probably the electronic flash lighting rig for studio use. It has not been out for some time, but I have tested it this week and it still works . Other items which may be of occasional use to members are a Projector (Carousel type) and the portable screen (which must be returned to the club for the Tuesday evening meetings.)

The Lighting Rig consists of a pair of Bowens BO-LITE Flash heads and associated stands. The lights have 100 watt tungsten modelling lamps built-in and there is a SLAVE flash trigger to reduce the cabling needed. All the cables are with the set if needed. There is also a Flash Meter … a “LUMINOS “ which needs a 9volt PP3 battery and is at the moment untested. A LASTOLITE backdrop is also in with the set … great if you want Terracotta and Grey marbling !!

Two items which I thought we did have with this collection were a set of BARN DOORS for the lamp-houses and a LASTOLITE reflector . I can find neither of these … If anyone happens to find either item in their loft or at the back of their garage then Please can we have them back !!!

One last point, The Lighting rig is carried in a largish Sports type bag and is a little bulky. At present it is stored in my roof which is not really very convenient. If anyone can store this bag and the two telescopic stands then I would be most grateful. Usually the “last user” stores ! I am happy to bring the rig to the club by arrangement for handing over, otherwise it’s “borrower collect”.
