Tuesday 30th November was the date and NCPS the hosts for the annual triangular battle between NCPS, Wilmslow Guild and South Manchester. As hosts NCPS chose Tillman Klinans has the visiting judge, and once again he showed how knowledgeable he is. A quick glance at the prints before hand showed again how many clubs now have some very talented workers who have picked up digital imaging and are enjoying producing some fine work. We had a hard job to do well in the print section. In addition NCPS of late have not been too clever in our choice of slides we have entered for various competitions. Still as Tillman had braved the road works and queues of the M62/M60 intersection we could not really cry off!! The full list of results are available and show what a close run evening we had. A good turn out was welcomed and NCPS hope all our visitors had an enjoyable evening. The images were judged cold on the night Tillman taking a look through with some short comments; then running through the entries again pulling out images he particularly thought had promise and marking the remainder ‘on the fly’. Only one 20m was to be awarded on the evening which caused some ‘shuffling the deck’ at the end the final winning image being by Steph Clack of NCPS. After a well earned tea break the slides were viewed in a similar fashion; images of worth being ‘pulled’ for further appreciation. Wilmslow guild made a final dash for the line with 2 19’s and the winning 20 attributed to their workers. The final result, however saw the hosts just beating Wilmslow to win with South Manchester coming a creditable 3rd. Examination of the results show how near the scores were throughout the evening.
