Preliminary website updates for the new season
This website has had a summer holiday! Now it is raring to go for the new season. It is having a facelift (not yet complete), and is being updated with essential information. Some of this information is preliminary and is awaiting confirmation, and that information is flagged in red. The rest is as final as anything ever is.
Syllabus for 2010/2011: the syllabus page is largely complete, but still has a few details to be filled in or confirmed. Typically the details are available, but need more work from me to incorporate them. I'll improve the format of the information as well. After this is done, there will probably be a downloadable PDF file that will be printable in a convenient format.
Constitution and standing orders: this has been updated a result of a motion that was passed at the AGM. The change allows the selection chairperson to choose the membership of the selection committee. This simply needs a check to confirm the correct wording. No extra changes are envisaged. Once this and the rules changes below have been confirmed, a replacement PDF for the combined constitution and rules will be uploaded.
Rules for Clubworker competitions and rules for members' work in the Exhibition: these have been updated as a result of motions (Clubworker motion; Exhibition motion) passed at the AGM. These simply need checks to confirm the correct wording, then they will be in the PDF mentioned above. No extra changes (except perhaps clearer wording) are envisaged.
Membership joining and renewal information and Word form: there has been no change to the membership fee for this season, so the only change is to the dates. There is no excuse for not renewing your membership ASAP!
Facelift: the blog had a facelift at the start of June. (Compare the May blog archive and the June blog archive to see the difference). Now the first incremental change to the overall format of main pages has been made. The most obvious change is to have the buttons on the left, since most screens are wider than they are high, and also because the eye reaches the content faster without buttons at the top. This particular change was based on a suggestion in a variety of designs from Jackie Robinson. I have been experimenting with her other suggestions, which include a choice of new colour schemes. Watch this space!
