At this meeting, members, particularly the more recent joiners, are invited to bring along their pictures, either prints or digital files, for informal assessment by our more experienced members. We all hope to learn from this just how our images may be improved to stand up to scrutiny in competition, and to debate which images may be have real potential in internal and external competitions.

In addition, a number of easy methods to re-size our digital images to specific formats (e.g. 1400 x 1050 or 1024 x 768) will be demonstrated, using different programmes. There appears to be some confusion amongst our members as to how pictures, for instance in portrait format, should be converted for “landscape” projection ensuring excess areas are filled with black.

There will no doubt be a number of related topics which hopefully we can finally clarify at this meeting. It should prove to be an entertaining and informative session for all of us.
