Annual Exhibition 2008
Members will be aware that the “Handing In” date for the Exhibition is the 1st meeting of 2008 on 8th January. This initiates the long process of assembling the lists, taking the images to the judge, collecting them back (hopefully only two to three weeks later!), sorting out the arrangement of prints on the stands (and confirming which to leave out) designing and printing the Catalogue.

We have agreed that Prints will again be for sale on the Friday (if individuals so wish). As last year it is likely that members will be asking from between £5 (production costs) and £40 (great artistic merit!!).As last year the Club retains a 20% commission!) So the Catalogue will include the asking price( or NFS). It would help if members could email me with their entry titles and the asking price. This saves me some typing, and helps ensure I read the titles correctly. (Thus this applies to slides also). To the public it is an Exhibition, and as such, prints will carry labels indicating the title and author. Internally, of course it is also a club competition. The results of the competition will be in the catalogue. The catalogue is therefore an important source of information, to be sought by most people, and it is on this basis that we invite people to advertise in the catalogue. The rate is £50 per half A5 page, and I would encourage all members to consider whom we might approach to advertise in the catalogue.

You will be aware that the Raffles help us to cover costs, and in the past members have been generous with unwanted bottles of Whisky, Brandy etc left over from Christmas Festivities. I hope you will all continue to support the raffle. (Let myself, or Hilary or Brian Turnbull know that you expect to contribute)
