Long-standing members of NCPS will be saddened to hear of the passing of Des Lowe who died on 3rd July. Des was President of our Society for a number of years, both in its days as North Cheshire, and previously Hazel Grove P.S. His colour printing in those early days was an inspiration to many of us, as was his dedication to the progress of the Society dating right back to its formative years. We lost touch with Des and his wife Joan some years ago, but Desmond’s influence and forthright disposition will be well remembered by all who knew him.
A ceremony is to take place at Manchester Crematorium on Wednesday 11th July at 1.20pm and a display of some of his prints is to be arranged at the reception following. I’m sure many of his old friends and photographic contacts will wish to be there.
