| The Battle with Chapel Club Wednesday 21 February | ||||||||
|
This year it was our turn to visit Chapel CC in Hayfield. We turned out in force with 13 supporters to have a drink at the bar before the event. Chapel’s venue is a very comfortable room (with a bar in the corner) at the Hayfield Conservative Club. Chapel president, Jan Butcher, expressed her delight at seeing us all and introduced the judge Dave Hollows from Sale club. We normally expect to win in the Print section but lose in the Slide section of the competition. We were pleased to be 20 points ahead after the prints but some of us took to the drink to buffer any disappointment with the slides. When the final results were announced we were only 13 points adrift with the slides giving us an overall winning margin of 7 points [NCPS 338; Chapel 331]. Naturally we all had a drink to celebrate. Tony Redford thanked the Judge, and Chapel Club, for another good inter-club competition. The marks for our prints and slides are given below. NCPS members and friends present were Roger Dye, Tony and Dorothy Redford, Gordon and Joyce Robson, Alan and Fiona Saunders, Geoff Robinson, Phil Riley, Colin Pickles, Brian Turnbull, Bill Chadband and Barry Pearson. |
