Twelve NCPS supporters (Dave Akers, Jon Allanson, Barry Pearson, Bill Chadband, Roger Dye, Dorothy Redford, Phil Riley, Joyce and Gordon Robson, Alan Saunders, Val and Alan Wild) travelled in three cars to Southport on Wednesday 18th October to support their team in the annual knockout match (Southport’s “Who are the Champions” Digital Image Competition) with seven other teams. Our selection committee were obviously trying out new talent for the forthcoming season and so perhaps their bold innovations should be applauded. However Judge Peter Rees did not see it that way. Mist on Rydal Water (Jon Allanson) was knocked out in the first round. Leopard(Steph Clack) and Pendulum 99-06-A (Photogram, Barry Pearson) went out in round 2. In round 3 we lost Balcony (Dorothy Redford) Fantasy Fishing (Tony Redford) and Fern before Painted Wall (Bill Chadband). Cavalry (Brian Turnbull) and Spiral Ascent (Gordon Robson) went in the next round, followed by Ferruginous Buzzard (Alan Saunders) and Seen Better Days (Geoff Robinson) in the round after. Thus Male Redstart by Phil Riley was our star performer. By listing clubs in reverse order NCPS was seen to come out top! The team scores are given below:
