The Committee Meeting 30th July 2008

President Roger Dye welcomed the new committee to the meeting in the Vernon Room, Poynton Civic Hall.

Phil Riley reported that judges had been booked for all our internal competitions. The judges were Dave Butler, Tony Pioli, Dave Hollows, David Bibby, Tilman Kleinhans, and Colin Douglas. All of these competitions will be judged “cold” on the night. We would include the competition rules in Focus.

Bill Chadband reported that John Smith would be our Annual Exhibition Judge, Mike McNamee would judge the inter-club projected image competition, and he was hopeful that Keith Brown would judge the inter-club digital Print Competition.

Jill Hargreaves reminded members to book and interchange club equipment via herself so that the Club could keep track of it. She noted that the Library exhibition would be hung on the 18 August and taken down on the 6th September. Prints were also required for the Poynton Show.

Colin Pickles noted that Paris and Dublin had been suggested as possible venues for the next club overseas visit.

Barry Pearson noted that Club Rules were all on the Web-Site and could be downloaded for convenience. Barry had taken over the job of updating the WebSite with Competition results, Focus Articles etc.

The Club has agreed to renovate the Bernard Sellars Trophy and to ask Alan Bromage to undertake this task.

Although we still haven’t been asked formally to take part in the Poynton show, Richard Scaife is working on the assumption that we will be asked.

Roger Dye had assembled the August mailing to members, and would shortly post the envelopes. He was thanked for providing the refreshments for the evening.

Next Committee meeting set for 24th September 2008.

Bill Chadband
